We got a pumpkin over the weekend from Nana and so we decided to carve it up today. We picked a happy face and had at it. Maddie stuck her hand in one time to help clean out the inside and didn't attempt a second grab. She said it was gross and stunk. She went and washed her hands and then was my faithful audience. We had lots of fun especially when it got dark and we could really see it light up. The picture isn't too good but you get the idea.
Standing by her proud work of art.
Notice Sugar is also proud.

2 Months old!

Mollie is two months old today so we went to the Doctor's office for her well check. I was so curious how much she had grown because we haven't been since she was 3 days old. So the outcome was this:
height : 23 in. (75%)
weight: 12lbs. 3oz. (75%)
I can't believe how much bigger she has gotten in just 2 months. He said, "Wow, she is going to catch Maddie fast." I thought that was funny because she is so much bigger than Maddie was. Everything else went fine. Of course she hated the shots that she got but overall did well
I made the appointment for her next well visit at 4 months and for Maddie's 4 year visit. Too crazy, that Maddie is almost 4. The nurses told me that the 4 year visit is terrible. So we have that to look forward to. Luckily, Trey said he would take Maddie for me since it is all I can do to hold her down. It is going to be a dozie but at least after that she doesn't get any more shots till she is 12.

Sleep...what's that?
Wohooo! Mollie slept 7 hours straight last night! It was great. Now hopefully she will start to make a habit of that and then we can start working on 10 hours. You definitely forget those sleepless nights and that foggy feeling in the morning after a few months of normal sleep. Since it has been over 3.5 years since we have done this baby thing it has been tough on me. I am looking forward to having my whole evening and night back. However I must admit Mollie is doing better at getting this sleeping through the night thing down than Maddie did. Keep praying for us that this will be a consistant thing in our household.
What we hope to see lots more of:

Do you remember any of these...
I can't take all the credit for this...I saw this on an old friend's blog and thought it was too funny. Click on the link below and watch the video. It is awesome. Even though I haven't been a mom that long I know the other side of this video (that being the daughter) and remember just a few of these comments. Let me know what you think.

Pray please
Okay so the past few nights have not been as good as the night I posted about last but they are still good. Mollie has consistently been sleeping 5+ hours in a row at night. I am hoping that we will see an increase in the next few weeks. Please be praying for that as it has a direct correlation to our (mine) sanity.
On a heavier note, I am enlisting every person's prayer possible for some friends of ours. They were pregnant and due at the end of December. However, this past weekend they had to deliver the baby due to a rare blood disease that was discovered in the Mother. They baby is only 23 weeks along. She weighs 11oz. and is 9 inches long. The mom is doing better but the biggest concern is obviously for the baby. She is tiny and needs lots of prayer. They know it is going to be a long road but nothing is impossible for God. Please keep them in your prayers for strength and endurance as well as courage and hope. We are hopefully going to get to see them this upcoming weekend. It does remind me of how lucky we are to have two happy and healthy baby girls with no incident during pregnancy.
God is in control.

Schedules really are great!
Well this week came and went really fast. I worked really hard to finally get Mollie on a schedule. We did it after a long week and a lot of diligence. She fought it tooth and nail and we still have our good and bad moments. I think another week or two and we will really be settled into it. I know I should have done it earlier and it wouldn't have been so hard but it is just harder to do when you have two kids on your hands. We are still trying to get a few kinks out and figure some stuff out but I am happier with how things are going overall. She did however give me a present last night...she slept 6.5 hours straight. It was so nice but now my body is used to getting up so I woke up automatically. I am sure it is probably a fluke but I will take a fluke whenever I can get one. Who knows maybe she will do it again tonight...we will see.
Maddie is doing really well at pre-school. Last week they had a pet fair at school and the kids got to bring their pets from home so all the classes could see and pet them. Of course we brought Sugar up and Maddie was so proud of her puppy. She loved showing everyone that Sugar was hers. It was so cute and a lot of fun.
Trey and Sugar waiting for the kids to come by for lots of loving.
Maddie is the one if the middle of the photo with the pig-tails! You can't tell from the photo but she is running towards us as fast as possible to get to Sugar and show her off. It was so cute and sweet.

Finally...it was about time!

Okay I finally got some pictures downloaded. It only took me like a month. Oh well better late than never. You can tell Mollie is growing so fast. Some pictures are just silly shots like the Christmas hat. Maddie found the hats and had to try them on so we did. Anyways, we listen the Christmas music year round in the Carlile house so why not wear the hats too. Maddie is a huge fan of Christmas and I must say if you are going to have a favorite holiday Christmas is a good choice. Also, Maddie is the queen of bubbles so the last picture is Maddie in her second home, our bathtub filled with bubbles.

A wordy update.
Okay I know I have done a horrible job updating lately. I haven't down loaded pictures lately and I just have been unmotivated to blog. We have been busy though. Mollie is growing like a weed yet just can't seem to figure out a schedule yet. I am trying but she is completely different than Maddie was as a baby. Maddie made her own schedule from day one and it was like clockwork. This one seems to be a bit more like her Daddy though.
Labor Day was great. We went to my parents for the weekend and my sister and her family came as well. With a new pool and great weather we spent the weekend catching some sun and catching up. It was relaxing or at least as relaxing as you can get with a newborn.
Maddie started preschool yesterday. She is only going two days a week but the first day was great. She was so excited about it and I was so proud of her too. She really thrives on being around kids her age so even though I am staying home now I didn't want to rob her of that social aspect that is so important. I think it is going to be great. The best part about it all is that her teacher ended up being a lady that goes to our church and helps in Maddie's Sunday school class. Thank you, Lord!
Last night we got to go to dinner with some of our great friends. After spending so much time being cooped up in the house with limited interaction it was a welcomed occasion. We had the best time and I just love these two people. We always seem to be on the same page about issues and they are honest, true, and genuine. You really can't get better than that and it was just a nice time out. Thank goodness for great friends. As busy as everyone is these days it is so wonderful to take the time out to spend with others not just for ourselves but for each other too.
Sooner or later I will put up some pictures. Maybe one of these days I won't be so lazy...or maybe the better word would be that I will be motivated.
